Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced the fifth installment of its Broadway Series, the Gershwin musical comedy, Crazy For You in its 25th Anniversary year. The concert performance will take place at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center on February 19, 2017 at 8pm. Crazy For You joins previous acclaimed concert performances of Ragtime, Titanic, Parade, and The Secret Garden. The concert performance of Crazy For You will feature a chorus of over 200 singers from the across the United States, a professional cast and creative team, and the enlarged forces of the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

Tickets will go on sale at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Susan Stroman returns to direct the Tony Award-winning Crazy For You 25 years to the day from its opening night on Broadway. Stroman, who received her first Tony Award for Best Choreography for Crazy For You went on to win Tony Awards for Best Choreography for Show Boat (1995), Contact (2000), and The Producers in 2001, for which she also won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical.

With music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, and a book by Ken Ludwig, Crazy For You is based on the Gershwin brothers' 1930 musical Girl Crazy and also incorporates songs from many other productions.

This romantic comedy follows Bobby Child who works as a banker for his overbearing mother but dreams of dancing with the most popular show in New York City, Zangler's Follies. After a failed audition, his mother sends him to Deadrock, Nevada to forclose on a rundown theater. There he meets Polly Baker, who, unbeknownst to him, is the daughter of the theater's owner and she has vowed to get even with Bobby if she ever meets him. Bobby falls in love with her instantly and hatches a plan to save the theater.
