Leg Up on Life Presents The Spoken Word Gala

The Spoken Word Gala presented by Leg Up On Life is hosted by Daniel Gold who founded Leg Up On Life as a means for choreographers of all dance styles to present their work on a public platform while raising money for charitable organizations.

The Spoken Word Gala is taking place Monday, January 22nd, 2018 at Alchemical Studios in the Studio A Theatre. Performances will take place at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. The event will bring poetry, interviews, and other auditory art to life through movement created by wonderful choreographers set on their exquisite casts.

The evening will include the works of 12 choreographers: Christian Bufford (How to Succeed... Nat'l Tour), Patricia Crumrine, Shany Dagan, Brinda Guha (WISE FRUIT NYC curator & 2018 Dixon Place Artist In Residence), Mathew James (Artistic Director of URBAN/TRIBE), Arianne Meneses, Bobby Morgan, Cassie Nordgren (Waiting in The Wings Choreographer, Artistic Director of ThruLines), Devin Richey, Kristen Brooks Sandler (Joseph....Dreamcoat & Elf Nat'l Tours), Brad Trump (CATS Nat'l tour) and Adam Wedesky.

These pieces will be performed by numerous performers of different backgrounds including but not limited to: Kelly Berman, Taylor Broadard, Quinn Carpenter, Maria Cherniske, Lori Cobos, DeMarius Copes (Mean Girls & Newsies Nat'l Tour), Edward Cuellar, Adena Ershow (FABULOUS! The Queen of New Musical Comedies), Niki Kapanka, Roddy Kennedy, Melissa Hunt, Grace Hardin, Justine Lee, Andre Malcolm, Taylor McMahon, Nicole Marie Pavone (Elf Nat'l tour), Cristina Alejandra Pinero, Rachel Powers, Mara Ranson, Fabien Ropraz, Daniel Santiago, Yuki Sato, Christine Shepard, Amanda Summers, Candace Tabbs, Juli Todd, Giorgia Vitali, Kendall Walker, Corey Wright
