Laura Osnes Joins Lineup for The Kitchen Riots Benefit Concert Tonight, 8/6

Laura Osnes (Bonnie and Clyde, Anything Goes) joins a lineup of other New York stage veterans and rising stars tonight, August 6, at an intimate evening event benefiting New York performing arts festival The Kitchen Riots.

The Kitchen Riots Benefit Concert features solo performances along with a menu of sweet and savory hors d’oeuvre courses developed for the event by Chef Danika Robertson. The event is open to the public and will take place at Stella Adler Studio of Acting in Midtown Manhattan. All proceeds go to fund the first iteration of The Kitchen Riots at the end of September 2012.

The Kitchen Riots, produced by Purple Threads Ensemble (Dear Mr. Rosan, Cherry Lane Theatre), is a three-night festival of dance, music, and theatre helmed by Artistic Director/Executive Producer Danielle Velkoff and Executive Producer Erica Jacob. About The Kitchen Riots, Purple Threads Ensemble has released this statement: “Journey with us through powerful stories of hope and transformation as together, we explore our shared humanity. What will you discover?”

Joining Osnes as performers for the Benefit Concert are Tracee Beazer (Memphis), Paula Buresh (Rising Stars of Broadway at Town Hall), Erica Jacob (Rising Stars of Broadway at Town Hall), Jared Joseph (Dreamgirls national tour), Starr Kwofie (Girl of the Golden West), Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone (Legally Blonde national tour), and Tamra Paselk (La Ilorona).

Founded in 2008, Purple Threads Ensemble is an artist collective whose purpose is impactful and meaningful storytelling. They foster a belief that good work comes from a healthy, inspired work environment. Their goal is to produce groundbreaking plays, original choreography, and innovative festivals that seek to explore the human condition.
