According to Page Six, B. Smith, owner of a small but popular restaurant chain and victim of Alzheimer's, has decided to close her last Manhattan location.

In a statement posted on Facebook her husband, Dan Gasby, announced that the closure is due to the skyrocketing prices of rent. "You go from a point where your landlord goes from being a partner to a pimp," Gasby told Page Six during an interview. "When . . . your landlord becomes your pimp, then you know what that makes you."

B. Smith's opened 28 years ago and has since grown. Besides Manhattan, the restaurant can also be found in Washington D.C. and Sag Harbor.

Gasby spoke of plans to look for restaurant opportunities in various locations and different forms in a recent Facebook post which can be found here.
