On Thursday, June 30 at 7pm the Ladies Day Jazz Quartet returns to New York City's Metropolitan Room to present the compositions of classic and contemporary jazz women.

This group of accomplished female jazz musicians is dedicated to discovering and performing the often unknown or under appreciated songs and lyrics of women who may be celebrated as musicians but whose achievements as composers are not widely recognized.

The fun and informative performance will feature composers such as Peggy Lee, Marian McPartland, Abbey Lincoln, and Iola Brubeck, among others, as well as original compositions. The ladies who swing the band are MJ Territo, vocals; Linda Presgrave, piano; Iris Ornig, bass, and Barbara Merjan, drums.

The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010. Telephone 212-206-0440. Tickets may be purchased at http://metropolitanroom.com/event.cfm?id=230383&cart
