Kentwood Players Announces Auditions For DADDY'S DYIN' WHO'S GOT THE WILL?

By:

Kentwood Players will hold open auditions for DADDY'S DYIN' WHO'S GOT THE WILL?, by Del Shores, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00am to 1:00pm and Sunday, May 13 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Callbacks will be held on Monday, May 14 at 7:00pm by invitation only. This is a non-equity, non-paid production directed by Kirk Larson and produced by Alison Boole and Elizabeth Summerer for Kentwood Players with rights secured from Samuel French, Inc.

Performance dates are July 13 through August 18, 2018 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Auditions and performances take place at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester, CA 90045.

Set in a small Texas town, this comedy stages the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally disabling stroke. They've wanted their father's love, but they'll settle for his money! Winner of the LA Weekly Theater Awards for Best Production and Best Playwriting. It is not so much the story of the impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a rebirth of the spirit of the family unit.

Those auditioning should read the play before auditioning to become familiar with the characters. Please allow time to sign-in and complete paperwork during scheduled audition times. Please bring a current headshot and resume as well as your calendar as a rehearsal schedule will be posted at auditions and you will be asked to note any conflicts. Please be prepared to cold-read from the script. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the production team at DaddysDyin@kentwoodplayers.org.
