Ken Davenport to Receive Musical Theatre Society's 2010 Nickole Award 4/23, 4/24

Ken Davenport has been chosen to receive the Musical Theatre Society's 2010 annual Leonidas A. Nickole Award of Distinction. Davenport will accept the award prior to Emerson Stage's performance of Into The Woods on Friday, April 23 in the Cutler Majestic Theatre.

Ken will teach a master class the following morning on Saturday, April 24 at 10 AM in the Semel Theater. The class is open to the entire Emerson community.

Ken is a Broadway and Off-Broadway producer who has worked on a variety of productions, including Oleanna, Speed-the-Plow, You're Welcome America, Blithe Spirit, and 13. Other credits include Altar Boyz, The Awesome 80s Prom, and My First Time. His current projects include revivals of Godspell and A Few Good Men, and a musical adaptation of the film Somewhere in Time. About the Leonidas A. Nickole Award of Distinction:
The Leonidas A. Nickole Award of Distinction is awarded annually to distinguished individuals in the field of musical theatre. Past recipients include Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, Jerry Mitchell, Bernadette Peters, and Stephen Schwartz.
