Baz Bamigboye of the UK Daily Mail has reported that producers Sonia Friedman, Bob Bartner and Scott Rudin are perusing both Broadway and West End real estate for a potential transfer of the acclaimed Old Vic production of Shakespeare's "King Lear" for potential 2017 productions.

The production, helmed by Deborah Warner, stars Glenda Jackson in the title role. Reports also that Jackson is currently in discussions for a potential New York Transfer. This production marks a critically acclaimed return for the actress after nearly a quarter century away from the stage, serving as a member of Parliament.

It is reported that Warner will be studying "a shortlist of theatres and other venues for the right space to mount her modern-day production."

A spokesperson for the Old Vic told the Daily Mail that 'nothing is confirmed' about any transfers at this time.

The production is billed as, "Leading an outstanding company, double Academy Award-winning legend Glenda Jackson returns to the stage to play King Lear, a quarter of a century after she gave up acting for politics.

Written during a period of great social upheaval, Shakespeare's brutal masterpiece is arguably the greatest tragedy ever written. The fatal consequences of a foolish decision are explored in haunting poetry to create one of the most moving works in the English language."
