In conjunction with the exhibition, Jack Goldstein x 10,000, on view May 10 to September 29, 2013, The Jewish Museum is presenting a diverse series of programs, The What, Where, How and Who of Jack Goldstein. Artists such as John Baldessari, Morgan Fisher, James Welling and Robert Longo will be featured.
Highlights include a discussion of Goldstein as a pioneer of conceptual art practices with Douglas Crimp, University of Rochester, and Jens Hoffmann, The Jewish Museum's Deputy Director of Exhibitions and Public Programs, on May 23; John Baldessari and R. H. Quaytman sharing reflections and impressions of Goldstein in a June 25 intergenerational discussion; and a September 22 symposium examining the 1970s and 1980s art world along with the impact of Goldstein and the Pictures Generation on artists today, with Morgan Fisher, Robert Longo, Matt Mullican, Troy Brauntuch, James Welling, Kathryn Andrews, and Paul Pfeifer, and moderator Julia Robinson of New York University.
