Heart & Soul: Frank Loesser's Hollywood will feature songs by the legendary composer/lyricist as part of the 92nd Street Y's Lyrics and Lyricists series. The show will be performed on January 21st through January 23rd.

Heart and Soul will boast performances by Capathia Jenkins (Caroline, or Change, The Look of Love), Julia Murney (Lennon, The Wild Party), Steven Pasquale (A Man of No Importance, A Soldier's Play, FX' "Rescue Me"), Mary Testa (See What I Wanna See, Marie Christine, 42nd Street), Clarke Thorell (Hairspray, Titanic), and David Yazbek (composer/lyricist of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Full Monty). Ted Sperling, who received a Tony Award for orchestrating The Light in the Piazza and who directed See What I Wanna See, will serve as the show's musical director and pianist. The band will comprise Aaron Weinstein (violin), Aaron Heick (reeds), Kevin Kuhn (guitar), David Finck (bass), and David Ratajazcak (drums).

While Loesser is best known for his Broadway musicals--Guys and Dolls, The Most Happy Fella, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Where's Charley? and Greenwillow among them--he was also a prolific and popular Hollywood songwriter. The new concert focuses on his output for movie musicals. Loesser penned songs for films such as Sweater Girl, Happy Go Lucky, Moon Over Las Vegas, The Perils of Pauline, and most famously, Hans Christian Andersen. He won an Academy Award for "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (from Neptune's Daughter), and was nominated for four other songs.

The Most Happy Fella, which is considered by many to be Loesser's most ambitious musical theatre work, will be presented by the New York City Opera this March in a production starring Paul Sorvino.
