Jeff Whiting (Bullets Over Broadway) directs and choreographs a workshop of IN THE LIGHT, a new musical by Michael Mott (Mob Wife), Nathan Wright (Peninsula) and Justin Silvestri in a four-week developmental workshop presentation on December 8th and 9th.

IN THE LIGHT brings to life the story of scholar Johann Faustus (Cooper Howell), who is convicted of blasphemy by the Holy Inquisition of 16th Century Germany. Urged on by a mysterious Traveler (Kevin Goertzen), Faustus flees with his wife Ana (Dianna Graham) to the derelict town of Erfürt. There, they begin to rebuild their shattered lives until Faustus' past and pride rise again, threatening to destroy all they love.

The cast also includes: Nate Brogan, Kaden Caldwell, Thayne Caldwell, Amanda Crabb, Trevor Elzey, Riley French, Tyler Fox, Max Higbee, Briana Hulme, Krista Johnson, Patrick Kintz, Kelly Kuhnen, Kira Knorr, Taylor Morris, Colton Orr, Alice Ryan, David Paul Smith, Ellie Smith, Kendra Thomas, and McKelle Shaw. Musical Arrangements and Music Direction is by Joshua Zecher-Ross.

In The Light development workshop is being presented in partnership with Utah Valley University Theatre Department in Orem, Utah, under guidance of Rob Moffat and supporting teams: Tanner DeWaal (Assistant Director), Chantel Ficklin (Production Stage Manager), Cristian Bell (Technical Director), Laicey M. Gibby-Brown (Lighting), Joe Anderson, Jason Jensen (Sound), Madiline Ashton (Scenic/Props), and Courtney Dilmore (Costumes),

"This epic score brings to life the legend of Faust in a truly unique way," Whiting commented. "These writers have found a fascinating method to allow modern audiences to understand this complex tale in a way that forces each of us in the audience to take a serious look at our own actions."

Industry presentations are by invitation-only on December 8th and 9th.
