Jan Maxwell Assumes Role in Entertaining Mr. Sloane at Roundabout

Tony® award nominee Jan Maxwell has assumed the role of "Kath" in Roundabout Theatre Company's 40th Anniversary Season Off-Broadway revival of Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr. Sloane directed by Scott Ellis. Maxwell joins previously announced cast members Alec Baldwin, Chris Carmack and Richard Easton.

Entertaining Mr. Sloane will begin previews on February 17, 2006 and opens officially on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46 Street). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, May 21, 2006.

Lisa Emery has withdrawn from the production due to an extension of her current project Abigail's Party.

Jan Maxwell (Kath) was nominated for a 2005 Tony Award and won a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang. Broadway: Sixteen Wounded (Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award nominations), The Dinner Party (Outer Critics Circle Award – Best Ensemble), The Sound of Music (OCC nomination), A Doll's House (OCC nomination), Dancing At Lughnasa, City of Angels. Off-Broadway: The Bald Soprano (Atlantic Theater Company), Opening Doors (Carnegie Hall), Jules Feiffer's A Bad Friend (Lincoln Center), My Old Lady (Lucille Lortel Award – Outstanding Featured Actress, Drama Desk nomination), House and Garden (Manhattan Theatre Club), The Professional (Circle Repertory), Inside Out (Cherry Lane). Other theatre: Kennedy Center, ACT, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Playmakers Repertory. TV: "Law and Order" and "AIDS – Changing the Rules" (PBS).

Tickets for Roundabout Theatre Company's 40th anniversary season production of Entertaining Mr. Sloane will be available beginning January 15th by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org or at the Laura Pels Theatre Box Office (111 West 46th St.). Ticket prices range from $61.25 to $71.25. Entertaining Mr. Sloane will play Tuesday through Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
