J. Harrison Ghee, Jenn Colella, and Blaine Krauss Join Next HIGH NOTES Event at The Travel Agency
Jenn Colella, J. Harrison Ghee, and HAMILTON's Blaine Krauss will perform at the Union Square location.
Tony nominee Jenn Colella (Come From Away), Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee (Some Like It Hot) and Hamilton's Blaine Krauss have joined the next edition of High Notes taking place at The Travel Agency's Union Square location on Monday, June 29th from 7 - 8:30 pm.
The new series pairs live performance, cannabis culture and creative community in the heart of New York City. Hosted by Jade Jones (Bigfoot!, Vanities), this Pride Month edition brings together three show-stopping queer Broadway performers for intimate acoustic sets, elevated beverages, and a chance to experience Broadway talent outside the theater.
'High Notes is a space that celebrates Broadway performers taking the time to rest, reconnect, and put themselves first. It's a peek into what artists are like when they finally exhale. The relationship between cannabis culture and the Broadway community has long existed, but with legal access in New York, we have more opportunities to have conversations about wellness, recovery, and intentional use, said Jones. 'As a performer myself, I've found cannabis to be a tool for relaxation and restoration, and I wanted to create a series that invites artists to share that side of themselves openly.'
This series showcases The Travel Agency's commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and the quintessential arts communities, like Broadway, that shape New York City's layered cultural landscape. The Travel Agency prioritizes stocking queer and BIPOC owned brands and has supported and amplified the arts in a myriad ways over the years including partnerships with New York Film Festival, All Things Go, BAM and more.
The Travel Agency hosted the first edition of 'High Notes' on June 8th with performances by Nick Drake (& Juliet, Back to the Future), Katerina McCrimmon (Funny Girl, The Rose Tattoo), John-Michael Lyles (Hadestown, A Strange Loop) and Drew Cooper on guitar (Moulin Rouge, MJ The Musical).
