High School Musical to be Performed at 'Upper West Fest'

High School Musical, the massively successful Disney Channel TV movie which has spawned a #1 soundtrack album on the Billboard Top 200, a 40-city live concert tour, and an upcoming TV sequel, big screen film and popular stage version, will be performed by New York Teen Theatre at the Jewish Community Center as part of Upper West Fest, on Saturday, April 29, according to the New York Times.

Upper West Fest is presented by Symphony Space and celebrates the diverse array of artistry on the Upper West Side.  Upper West Fest will run through Sunday, May 20 and host over 50 events, including "Wall to Wall Opera," an all-day marathon covering 400 years of Opera (May 19), the American Museum of Natural History's Bees & Honey Exhibit (May 8) and the first annual Yiddish Film Festival (April 28-30).

"High School Musical 2" will air on the Disney Channel in August 2007; the movie musical Haunted High School Musical will be released in theaters in 2008.
