Victoria Theatre Association kicks off the 2017-2018 Morris Furniture Company Family Series with a swashbuckling musical presentation of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., at the historic Victoria Theatre. Tickets are on sale now at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, located inside the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center in downtown Dayton, via phone 937-228-3630 or online at www.ticketcenterstage.com.

Based on the New York Times best-selling children's book of the same name, HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, follows Jeremy Jacob on his trip to becoming a pirate. Jeremy Jacob has a blast learning how to speak pirate and pirate manners, but Jeremy Jacob quickly learns that becoming a pirate is not always fun and games. The production includes terrific songs such as "A Good One to Boot," "Green Teeth," and "Pirates Dot Arrgh!" Fun for the whole family, HOW I BECAME A PIRATE is sure to have all the young mateys in the audience singing and dancing after the show!

Tickets for HOW TO BECOME A PIRATE are $15 each.

DON'T FORGET OUR HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS AND STORYTIME!

Hands-On Rolling Workshops are $5 per child!

  • For this interactive workshop, our young pirates-in-training will make their very own pirate hat and pet parrot. Then, they will use their imaginations to embark on a swashbuckling pirate adventure to solve the mystery of where Braid Beard's treasure is buried.
  • Appropriate for ages 5 - 10.
  • Parents may watch for free.
  • Morris Family Series workshops are conducted by Victoria Theatre Association teaching artists and are not conducted by cast or crew of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE.

The free interactive Storytime in the Kettering Reception Room begins at 3:15 p.m.

Ticket Center Stage hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, noon - 4 p.m., and two hours prior to each performance. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.ticketcenterstage.com.
