An indispensable assistant is often referred to as a "right hand man." For the better part of five years, from readings to Off-Off-Broadway to Off-Broadway and finally to Broadway's Booth Theatre, HAND TO GOD's Steven Boyer has been working with a left hand man. Or a left hand demon, if you prefer. When Robert Askins' subversive comedy of a shy Texas youth whose sock puppet appears possessed by a foul-mouth demon named Tyrone ended its Broadway run on January 3rd, the Tony nominee became free to look at his left hand as more than just an acting partner. "I've had to figure out how to move forward after playing two roles that ruled my life for so long," he writes in a New York Times column. "The first thing I did was sleep. Well, that's not true.
