For 150 years, The Cooper Union has provided a platform for advancing social justice and political change. On Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 6:30 PM, Great Evenings in The Great Hall will feature "Democracy Now!" radio host Amy Goodman and Tony nominee Maria Tucci (The Rose Tatoo) in Radical Politics, a dramatic tribute to the rallying cries of Eugene V. Debs, Daniel DeLeon, Max Eastman, Mother Jones, Emma Goldman and Norman Thomas, at 7 East 7th St., NYC 10003 (b/w 3rd and 4th Aves). Highlights from the civic movements that have inspired and infuriated Americans for generations include protest songs and excerpts from the 1883 memorial service in The Great Hall for Karl Marx. Michael Unger will direct this free performance.
