And here we are, Gleeks - about to bring the curtain down on season five, and what it season it has been - graduations, swan songs, Broadway openings, engagements, and everything in between. Strike up the orchestra for the eleven o'clock number, as we kiss season five goodbye. Mister Conductor, if you please!

Rachel gears up to meet the writer of his TV project, who is planning to crash the Monday dinner tradition where Sam and Mercedes are also gearing up for big chances for themselves. Brittany shocks everyone by coming for a visit after getting Tom Hanks-ed on an island after losing her passport. The writer for Rachel's project arrives and proves to be more unique than Rachel was anticipating. Mercedes heads out on a mall tour with Brittany as her back up dancer, and Artie filming the whole thing to document the big event. Mercedes hits the stage and performs her brand new single - "Shakin My Head" for her adoring mall going public, which includes Sam there for support. June and Blaine meet for rehearsal for the upcoming showcase, and Blaine's guilt about lying to Kurt rears its head, but June refuses to hear it. Blaine's guilt leads him to belt out some "All of Me" by John Legend, when Kurt arrives to surprise him with lunch, when the truth comes out, and Kurt gets upset about being lied to and storms out.

Sam finds it hard to keep himself in check around the sexy ladies at his modeling audition, putting all of that into a version of Duran, Duran's "Girls on Film". Sam's repressed need for sex sells to Treasure Trails, booking him the gig. Sam and Mercedes get couple's advice from their friends, who suggest they should break up, but both of them are firm in their belief of their relationship. Mary the TV writer spreads her crazy as she absorbs herself in Rachel's world and meets her friends, pissing them all off in the process. Kurt gives Rachel some earful about Mary, but Rachel isn't ready to hear that her project is anything less than a chance for stardom. But, upon reading the first draft, Rachel is completely disenchanted with the bizarre world that Mary has created, and finally decides to speak her mind on the matter.

Blaine and Kurt talk for the first time after their fight, and Blaine says he's not going to do the showcase, because Kurt is more important to him than any showcase. Kurt, despite being mad, understands why Blaine did what he did, and explains that they need to support one another and be there for one another despite everything that could happen, and the two head off to make up. Rachel meets with Mary, but Mary doesn't seem to understand what she's trying to say, so Rachel turns to song - "Glitter in the Air" by Pink. Mary seems taken by the performance, finds that she's happy and decides to give Rachel's idea shot.

Sam's modeling shoot isn't going according to plan, but things begin to heat up when the sexy photographer begins to press buttons. The sexy photographer tempts Sam to cheat, and Sam gives into the moment, which leads Sam to spill to Mercedes about what happened - only kissing. Mercedes realizes she can't keep doing this to Sam, and decides that maybe they should break up and believe their love is strong enough to survive somehow, someway. Blaine and June perform "No Time At All" from Pippin at the showcase, and they kill it, but June is less than kind when Kurt comes to congratulate his fiancée. Just as the show comes to a close, Blaine invites Kurt to finish out the show with him, shocking June. Kurt and Blaine perform "American Boy" and invite their friends to dance along, getting even cold June to lighten up and join in on the fun. Blaine apologizes for defying her, but June takes in stride, and all the credit, because apparently it's been awhile since someone proved her wrong. Klaine: 1, June - Zip.

Rachel finally gets the script she hoped for, and Sam gets his male model moment - himself half naked on the side of a bus. Despite the success, Sam decides to head back to Ohio, just as it seems several others are headed in brand new directions. The glee kids promise to stay close despite it all, and what better way to cement that then with a song - "Pompeii". Sam returns to the halls of McKinley, Mercedes heads out on the road with Brittany backing her up, Blaine moves in with Kurt and Rachel, and Artie continues to relish the life of a New York film student. As things begin to settle in, Rachel gets a call - her project has gotten picked up to pilot, and it appears Rachel Berry is LA bound. What new directions lay ahead for our favorite glee kids? We'll just have to see, but hold on to the feeling and don't stop believin'!
