Geoffrey Rush Wins Defamation Lawsuit in Australia

CNN reports that Geoffrey Rush has won more than $600,000 and might be getting millions from Sydney's Daily Telegraph in a defamation case that the judge described as "extravagant and reckless" reporting.

Another hearing scheduled for May 10th is set for a judge to rule on lost earning which will be added to the already awarded sum.

The Telegraph alleged Rush had abused a co-star had abused during the run of a 2015 stage production of King Lear.

Rush starred on Broadway in the 2009 revival of EXIT THE KING, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play and Drama Desk Award Outstanding Actor in a Play.
