In honor of Throwback Thursday, BroadwayWorld is celebrating the past with a new series that will take you back in time with some of our favorite vintage video features. BILLY ELLIOT opened on Broadway on November 13, 2008 at the Imperial Theatre, where it ran for 1312 performances. Set in a mining town in the north of England against the background of the 1984-85 miners' strike, BILLY ELLIOT is the inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream come true. Follow Billy's journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class where he discovers a passion for dance that inspires his family and whole community and changes his life forever.
