Dan Fogler, the Tony Award-winner whose star has been on the rise, has been tapped to star in the new feature film comedy The Golden Tux, according to Variety.
"Fogler will play a charismatic guy who makes his living as a professional best man. He is hired by a lonely guy to make his wedding day one to remember," states the article. The Golden Tux will be written by Jay Lavender and Jeremy Garelick, of The Break-Up fame. They will also serve as executive producers, alongside Todd Phillips,
Fogler, who picked up a Tony for his turn as magic-footed William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, currently stars in Dan O'Brien's Off-Broadway play The Voyage of the Carcass, which opened on October 16th.
The star's film career is thriving. He recently appeared in a supporting role in the comedy School for Scoundrels. Upcoming films include Balls of Fury (in which he'll play a "ping-pong-playing spy") the Weinstein Co's Fanboys, the comedy Good Luck Chuck, with Jessica Alba and Dane Cook, and Chase Palmer's The Number Thirteen, in which he'll play a young Alfred Hitchcock.
Fogler's other New York credits include Joe Fearless, Bridges and Harmonies and Bobby Gould in Hell.
