First Trailer For Shakespeare's CYMBELINE Starring Ethan Hawke
The first official teaser trailer for the uniquely compelling new big screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy CYMBELINE is now available to view.
Starring current Macbeth in MACBETH on Broadway, versatile stage and screen notable Ethan Hawke, the vivid new re-conceptualization of the violent and complex play sets it in an alternate contemporary time, complete with crime-filled cityscapes and corrupt overlords.
Also featured in the film along with Hawke are Ed Harris, Penn Badgley, Milla Jovovich, Anton Yelchin, Dakota Johnson and more.
Of note, CYMBELINE is directed by Michael Almereyda, who previously helmed a modern cinematic spin on Shakespeare's HAMLET, also starring Hawke, back in 2000.
After viewing this action-packed and gritty new trailer, one thing is for sure: Shakespeare's take on the Romans versus the Celts never looked quite this cool before!
So, could this be the 21st century answer to Baz Luhrmann's unforgettable Romeo & Juliet?!

No release date has yet been set for CYMBELINE, though it is already scheduled for festival screenings early next year.
