The Film Society of Lincoln Center presents a special Sneak Preview screening event this month at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street). FSLC will present Dreamworks Animation's upcoming 3D film, THE CROODS tonight, March 13. The filmmaker will attend and participate in tonight's Q&A.

Screening at the Walter Reade Theater tonight, March 13 at 7:00PM, Film Society will screen Dreamworks Animation's animated comedy, THE CROODS. Directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk De Micco, THE CROODS is a 3D comedy adventure that follows the world's first modern family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always been their home, is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods are rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts as they discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever. The all-star cast providing the voices include Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener and Cloris Leachman. THE CROODS is due for release March 22, 2013.

Prior to joining forces to bring THE CROODS to the big screen, Sanders previously directed HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (2010) and LILO AND STITCH (2002) and De Micco wrote and directed SPACE CHIMPS (2008) and co-produced RACING STRIPES (2005). Both will attend the screening and participate in a Q&A.

Founded in 1969 to celebrate American and international cinema, the Film Society of Lincoln Center works to recognize and support new directors, and to enhance the awareness, accessibility and understanding of film. Among its yearly programming of film festivals, film series and special events, the Film Society presents two film festivals in particular that annually attract global attention: the New York Film Festival, which just celebrated its 50th edition, and New Directors/New Films which, since its founding in 1972, has been produced in collaboration with MoMA. The Film Society also publishes the award-winning Film Comment Magazine, and for over three decades has given an annual award-now named "The Chaplin Award"-to a major figure in world cinema. Past recipients of this award include Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Sidney Poitier. FSLC presents its year-round calendar of programming, panels, lectures, educational and transmedia programs and specialty film releases at the famous Walter Reade Theater and the new state-of-the-art Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
