Fashion Photo of the Day 10/11/13 - Katie Holmes

Being single really agrees with Katie Holmes. She looks carefree and more like the girl-next-door we all fell in love with pre-Tom. Not that she didn't look chic and sophisticated while married to actor Tom Cruise. But her haute couture clothing always seemed a bit out of place on her, like she was playing a role. This outfit Holmes wore to tape a segment on Good Morning America is stylish, young and seems natural for Holmes.

Holmes wore an ivory blouse and black shorts from her own Holmes & Yang line underneath a trendy army green coat by Michael Kors. I love the mix of classic with utilitarian plus the added feminine polka dot tights. Its personal take on fall trends and definitely shows Holmes' point of view. I like the Michael Kors pumps with the look but I would have also loved to see a bootie or even a chunkier pump. It would have added more weight to balance out the jacket.
