Fame Becomes Me cast member Mary Birdsong will appear nationally on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on NBC Wednesday, August 30th.  In New York City, the show airs on WCBS, Channel 4 at 12:37 a.m.

Birdsong's guest appearance takes place shortly after making her Broadway debut in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.  "A regular cast member on the Comedy Central television show, "Reno 9111," Ms. Birdsong's impersonations of Joan Rivers, Judy Garland, Jodie Foster and many others in the new Broadway musical Fame Becomes Me have garnered much attention from critics and audience members alike," according to press notes.

Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, the new comedy musical co-written by Martin Short, Daniel Goldfarb (Modern Orthodox), Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) with additional material by Alan Zweibel (700 Sundays), "features Short in a tour de force guiding us through an improbable version of his life story. Backed by a brilliant cast of top Broadway performers (who constantly steal focus from Mr. Short when he's not looking), Short's transparent play for love and attention asks the burning question, does an autobiography really have to be true?"

Directed by Wittman, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me opened on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) on Thursday, August 17, 2006.
