John Malkovich will be back on stage in New York in June performing in The Giacomo Variations at City Center, as part of the Cherry Orchard Festival. The Giacomo Variations is a collaboration between Martin Haselböck (conductor), Michael Sturminger (director), and Mr. Malkovich. Malkovich met the press earlier today and you can check out a photo preview from the big event below!

The Giacomo Variations will play four performances at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street): May 30th at 8pm, May 31st at 8pm, June 1st at 8pm and June 2nd at 3:00PM.

The Giacomo Variations concerns Giacomo Casanova, a theater violinist who dabbled in the role of a lieutenant and was co-founder of France's lottery. As a globetrotting adventurer and due to his reputation as lover of innumerable women, he became world famous. His memoires from 1790 continue to fascinate and illuminate Casanova as a classic symbol of the art of seduction.

We meet Casanova in various exciting encounters, bursting with desire and passion for numerous women and we experience his personal retrospection on his life in the face of his approaching death. It becomes clear that his biggest fear is dying before discovering what he has lived for.

The cast includes: John Malkovich as Giacomo I, Daniel Schmutzhard as Giacomo II, Ingeborga Dapkunaite as Isabella I, and Sophie Klußmann as Isabella II.
