FBi Radio Announces 2018 Fundraising Art Auction FBi Radio is thrilled to announce their 2018 fundraising art auction, bringing together iconic Sydney artists alongside exciting emerging artists and the most collectable next big thing.

Over 60 Australian artists have donated work including Ken Done, Joan Ross, Reg Mombassa, Angela Tiatia, Abdul Abdullah, plus many more.

The FBi Radio Art Auction will take place on Tuesday 20 February at National Art School. Twenty artworks will go under the hammer in a live-auction, with all other works sold via silent auction throughout the evening.

As a champion for Sydney's artistic community, FBi Radio not only amplifies but also shapes Sydney's cultural fabric, with a track record for discovering new talent. FBi Radio's flagship art and ideas program 'Canvas' has been headed up by notable artists including Frances Barrett, Nat Randall, Abdul Abdullah and David Capra, with the show coming in at number 85 on Andrew Frost's 'The Power Trip 2017: The Most Powerful People in the Australian Art World'.

This will be the third art auction hosted by FBi Radio. Previous auctions were held in 2009 and 2010 at the MCA and AGNSW, respectively. Both events attracted a mix of collectors and investors alongside a broader FBi Radio audience. Featured artists included TV Moore, Todd McMillan, Del Kathryn Barton and Deborah Kelly, amongst others. Works sold under the hammer went for between $1000 and $5000.

The FBi Radio Art Auction is a fundraiser for the independent broadcaster. Less than 5% of FBi Radio's operational funding comes from government. While government independence emboldens editorial independence, it also forces FBi Radio to pursue other revenue sources so that they can continue championing Sydney music, arts and culture. FBi Radio has been blown away by the Sydney artistic community's eagerness to contribute and support.
