FAMOUS To Have Residency With Juniper Circle Productions
FAMOUS will be staged at Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia as part of the Alan Espinoza Solo Performance Series.
Juniper Circle Productions and the Blue Sage Center for the Arts will present FAMOUS, a new work in development, conceived by Sandra Bauleo and Thomas Caruso as part of The Alan Espinoza Solo Performance Series.
Written and performed by Bauleo and directed by Caruso, FAMOUS is described as "a funny and poignant true story about a struggling young actress and the gloriously unhinged working relationship she develops with a Hollywood legend." The presentation offers audiences a sneak peek of a brand-new work in progress, followed by a talkback with the artists.
As part of the project, Bauleo and Caruso will spend a week in residence in the North Fork Valley, developing the piece. This residency reflects Juniper Circle Productions' ongoing mission to build creative bridges between urban and rural communities by bringing nationally recognized artists into intimate dialogue with Western Colorado audiences and landscapes.
"This series is about creating space for bold, intimate storytelling while welcoming audiences into the process of new work development," said Michael Cooper, Executive Artistic Director of Juniper Circle Productions. "There's something transformative that happens when artists from major cultural centers step into a rural environment and are given the time and support to experiment, listen, and connect."
The Alan Espinoza Solo Performance Series serves as the centerpiece of Juniper Circle Productions' 2026 season, uplifting underrepresented voices through risk-taking solo performance and deeply personal storytelling. The series honors the memory of Alan Espinoza while creating opportunities for emerging local and established artists to develop original theatrical work in community.
The presentation continues Juniper Circle Productions' commitment to process-driven development, where audiences are invited to participate in the evolution of new theatrical works.
Performances will be presented at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia on Saturday, June 20 at 3pm, followed by a conversation with the artists. Ticket can be purchased at the Juniper Circle Productions website.
