Eugene Fleming Performs Tribute to Sam Cooke, 10/4

Broadway's Eugene Fleming will make his jazz club debut with a tribute to legendary soul singer Sam Cooke on Wednesday, October 4th at Iridium Jazz Club (1650 Broadway at 51st St.).  There will be two performances--at 9:30 PM and at 11 PM.

Fleming will perform such classics as "Best Things in Life," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," "Nobody Knows You," "Blowin' in the Wind," and "Twistin' the Night Away."  The eight piece band will be under the direction of Barry Levitt.

Fleming's Broadway career spans two decades and includes such shows as A Chorus Line, Sophisticated Ladies, The Tap Dance Kid, Black & Blue, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Kiss Me, Kate, Never Gonna Dance, Fosse and The Wiz.  A recipient of the Joseph Jefferson Award for his performance in Ain't Misbehavin,' he most recently was honored with a Barrymore Award for his portrayal of 'James Thunder Early' in Dreamgirls at the Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia. He has also been featured in countless commercials and films.
