On Thursday,
December 13 at 8PM, The
York Theatre Company will present the first of four performances of Enter Laughing: The Musical which
York Theatre is bringing back by popular demand. Enter Laughing: The Musical was recently presented
as part of York's Fall 2007 Musicals in Mufti Series – the York's
acclaimed series of musical theatre gems in staged concert performances–
and will again be presented in its Mufti staged concert version ("in street
clothes, without the usual trappings").
The show will play: Thursday,
December 13 at 8PM, Friday, December 14 at 3PM & 8PM; and Saturday, December 15 at 3PM at the Theatre
at Saint Peters
(54th Street,

Originally titled So Long, 174th Street, Enter Laughing: The Musical has a book by Fiddler on The Roof's Joseph Stein, music and lyrics by "Taxi's" creator Stan Daniels, and is based Stein's play from Carl Reiner's novel. It tells the hilarious story of young aspiring actor David Kolowitz in 1930s New York City as he tries to free himself from overly protective parents and girlfriends, all the while struggling to meet the challenge of an immense lack of talent.
