Four-time Academy Award-nominee Ed Harris will go from Hollywood to Ireland to make his European stage debut in a new play by Neil LaBute (Bash, The Shape of Things, Fat Pig). He will headline Wreck at the Everyman Palace Theatre in Cork from November 23rd through December 3rd.

According to Variety, "the play casts Harris as a recent widower with what is described as 'a unique love' for his dead wife." The show will be a co-production of the Everyman Palace, producer Kenneth Madden and
the Cork 2005 European City of Culture program.

Harris' most recent stage appearance was in the 1996 Broadway production of Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides.  He had previously appeared in Precious Sons, and received a Tony Award nomination for his performance. He received Oscar nominations for his work in The Hours, Pollock, The Truman Show and Apollo 13. Other screen credits include the TV miniseries "Empire Falls," A History of Violence, A Beautiful Mind, Stepmom, The Rock, Glengarry Glen Ross, Swing Shift and The Right Stuff.
