Dr Ranj Singh has been announced as a producer on the Olivier Award-winning play THE P WORD, which will return to Bush Theatre for a limited engagement. The production, written by Waleed Akhtar, will run from May 28 through June 27 and will feature the original cast, including Akhtar and Esh Alladi.

Singh joins the production alongside Tan France, with the show presented by Seventh Productions and Chuchu Nwagu Productions. He visited the cast during rehearsals as the production prepares for its return engagement following its award-winning premiere.

“I'm incredibly proud to be supporting The P Word as a producer — a powerful and timely piece that brings vital, and long overdue, conversations to the forefront,” said Singh. “For me, it's about championing South Asian and queer voices in theatre, backing bold new writing, and encouraging audiences to engage with live theatre that truly challenges stigma and inspires greater openness.”

Directed by Anthony Simpson-Pike, the production follows the parallel lives of two gay Pakistani men navigating identity, migration, and relationships in the UK. The play premiered at the Bush Theatre and received the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.

Performances will run Monday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Press night is scheduled for June 1 at 7:00 p.m. Accessible performances include a relaxed performance on June 13, an audio-described performance on June 17, and a captioned performance on June 20.
