Donna Vivino (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Hairspray) has created a brand new company, "On A Break Productions", which focuses on giving actors, stage managers, and all others involved in theater an opportunity to "take a break" from their usual routine and try their hand at wearing another hat.

"In the long-run, 'On A Break' plans to launch an ongoing event of new works and plays performed as staged readings primarily by Broadway actors. It will allow people involved in the arts to find new outlets for their talent where they can produce, stage manage, write, direct, or perform, and the proceeds of every production will go towards various arts education charities. "On A Break" will soon be accepting submissions of original one-act plays for the chance to be showcased in a festival that will occur this summer in New York City," according to press materials.

"On a Break Productions" plans to kick off its long future with an impromptu staged reading this weekend starring Tyler Hanes of Broadway's A Chorus Line and directed by its founder Donna Vivino. This debut reading will take place at the West Side Dance Project (located at 260 W. 36th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues) on May 6th at 7:00 pm and May 7th at 8:00 pm and will be free to all those who attend.  Audience members will also have the opportunity to learn more about this company's exciting new future.
