Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie, whose memoir Time Steps: My Musical Comedy Life celebrates a performing career that has spanned over four decades, will appear in two upcoming book-signing events.

Co-written with Greg Lawrence, Time Steps will hit book stores in September 6th; Simon & Schuster are the publishers.

McKechnie will appear at the Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street) on September 12th at 6 PM, and at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle on October 6th at 7 PM.

The A Chorus Line legend is already comfortable with relating her life story, having first performed her one-woman show Inside the Music in 1998. In that show, she performed songs from the musicals in which she has been featured, and shared anecdotes about her legendary career as well as the stars she has worked with.

McKechnie won a Tony Award for her iconic performance as Cassie in A Chorus Line, and has also appeared on Broadway in State Fair, Company (both the original and Roundabout revival), On The Town, Promises, Promises, and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, in which she made her Broadway debut. Her regional credits include playing Sally in Follies at the Paper Mill Playhouse and Carlotta in the same show for the Barrington Stage Company. Acclaimed for her vocal and acting talents as well as for her virtuoso dancing skills, McKechnie was also married to legendary director/choreographer Michael Bennett for a time.

The book is dedicated to McKechnie's sister Barbara,
her brother Ron and to the memory of Carolyn Ruth and Donald Bruce McKechnie, her parents. Time Steps is 304 pages in hardback.

The book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for $15.75 (the list price is $25).
