Disco Biscuits & Tauk Members To Join Forces For Umphrey's McGee Afterparty
Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits will join forces with Matt Jalbert and Isaac Teel of Tauk to form Tauking Biscuits on Friday, January 19th, at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. This first-time-ever collaboration is an official afterparty following night one of Umphrey's McGee's three-night 20th Anniversary run at the Beacon Theatre.
Tauking Biscuits is a natural extension of Jalbert and Teel's on-again/off-again collaboration with members of Umphrey's known as Tauking McGee, which sees a rotating cast of Tauk and UM members perform original songs by both bands and out-of-left-field covers like "Cirrus" by Bonobo. Now, it's Brownstein and Magner's turn to rotate into this fun collaborative super jam. Both are seasoned improvisational veterans who love mixing it up with new musicians, and they are sure to take off running with this exciting new project with their friends from Tauk.
This combination of players from both the Disco Biscuits and Tauk, two bands that have played such an important role in the history of Umphrey's McGee-and who are all world-class players and improvisers-only adds to how special this night will surely be.
