Diamond Head Theatre announced a casting call for upcoming production of GUYS & DOLLS. Auditions will be held March 26 to 28, 2010.

ROLES

GUYS

* SKY MASTERSON - Suave, handsome gambler. Tough and romantic. Must sing, dance and act. Baritone: B to an E flat.

* NATHAN DETROIT - Somewhat neurotic yet loveable gambler. Mus sing, dance and act. Baritone: D to a high F.

* NICELY NICELY JOHNSON - A gambler. Must sing, dance and act. Tenor: D flat to a high B flat.

* BENNY SOUTHSTREET - A gambler. Must sing, dance and act. Baritone: D flat to a high G.

* RUSTY CHARLIE - A gambler. Sings in The Fugue for Tinhorns. Baritone: D flat to a G.

* BIG JULE - A large, intimidating gambler. Singing and dancing a plus.

* HARRY THE HORSE - A gambler with attitude. Must sing and dance.

* ANGIE THE OX - Another gambler. Must sing and dance.

* ARVIDE ABERNATHY - Sarah Brown's grandfather. Has a heart of gold. Baritone: D to a high F.

* CALVIN - Member of the MIssion Band. Late teens to 60s.

* LT. BRANNIGAN - Police officer - 30s to 50s. Must be a strong actor. Irish accent a plus.

* CHORUS OF GAMBLERS - Who will play Joey Biltmore, Master of Ceremonies, Cuban partiers, etc.

DOLLS

* SARAH BROWN - Prim and proper Salvation Army Officer. She also has a great drunk scene. Must sing and act very well. Soprano: B b to a high A.

* MISS ADELAIDE - Comedic timing a must. Also must sing, dance and act. She is forever ill due to fourteen years of being engaged to Nathan. Mezzo: A b to E b.

* GENERAL CARTWRIGHT - Salvation Army matron - 40s to 60s. Must sing very well. E to a high A or C.

* HOT BOX DOLLS - Ladies who sing and dance for a living. late teens to 30s. New York attitude a plus. Will also play Cuban partiers.

* AGATHA & MARTHA - Members of the Mission Band. Late teens to 60s.

When?
Auditions are held in the DHT RehearsAl Hall. Dates and times are subject to change.

Guys and Dolls


Friday, March 26, 2010, 7pm
Saturday. March 27, 2010, 2pm
Sunday, March 28, 2010, 2pm


REQUIREMENTS
Be prepared to:

* SING - Please be prepared to sing (bring Broadway-style or sheet music in your own key). No a capella, transpositions on site, karaoke, or tapes will be allowed. An accompanist will be provided.
* DANCE - Please bring appropriate dance wear (clothes/shoes) as you may be asked to dance.
* READ - Perusal scripts available at the Diamond Head Theatre Box Office, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; material is copywritten and must be read on-site.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals begin immediately. Rehearsal schedule determined by director.


Performances

Guys and Dolls plays May 14 - 30, 2010
Regular performance times are Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m.* and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

* Saturday 3:00 p.m. matinees are on May 22 and 29.
