Pit Bull Theatre Productions will present a one-night only reading of Kander and Ebb’s Flora, The Red Menace Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 7pm. The reading will take place at Pace University located at 41 Park Row in Manhattan. Set in 1935, a time when many young idealists thought Communism could lead America out of the Depression and into a better world, Flora is the enchanting story of a young woman determined to make it in New York, whose love for a radical WPA artist leads her to join the Communist party. Flora, The Red Menace features music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by David Thompson.

The cast of Flora will feature Sheri Sanders (Urinetown, 1st National Tour, Betty Rules) as Flora, Deven May (Batboy) as Harry, Deidre Goodwin (Chicago, Nine, Rocky Horror) as Charlotte. Joining Sanders, May and Goodwin will be Katie Adams (Wicked), Richard Todd Adams (The Woman In White), Warren Freeman (Encores! Bye Bye Birdie), Sal Mistretta (Cabaret, Sunset Boulevard, Evita), Matthew Simpkins (It’s Karate, Kid!) and Pearl Sun (The Seven). Amy Rogers will helm the reading, with musical direction by Zachary Deitz. The project choreographer is Sara Brians (Irving Berlin's White Christmas, 42nd Street) and casting by Michael Cassara.

Pace University is located at 41 Park Row in lower Manhattan opposite City Hall Park. Admission to the private reading is free. Limited space is still available. If you wish to attend this one night only presentation, e-mail your name to Robert A. Sherrill at PitBullTheatre@aol.com.
