Davis Gaines Stays with Broadway on Ice Tour Through Feb. '06

Davis Gaines, who was seen on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, will stay with the Broadway on Ice tour in 2006.

Gaines joins Olympic gold medalist Dorothy Hamill in the tour. Skaters such as Hamill, Chris Nolan and Svetlana Butova perform on ice to the vocals of Gaines, who sings gems from The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Rent and other musicals.  The Broadway on Ice tours were created by Willy Bietak.

Gaines won a Bay Area Critics' Award for Best Actor for his performance as the Phantom in the West Coast production of The Phantom of the Opera; he also played the title role as well as Raoul on Broadway. His other Broadway credits include Camelot and Angela Lansbury--A Celebration, while other credits include the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind, Forbidden Broadway and Encores!' The Boys from Syracuse. Against the Tide and All My Tomorrows: Songs of Sammy Cahn are his two solo CDs.

Broadway on Ice will play: December 27th and 28th at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota, FL, December 30th at the Marina Civic Center in Panama City, FL, December 31st at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, FL, January 24th through 29th, 2006, at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, TX; January 31st at University of Texas PAC in Austin, TX, February 17th at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA, February 19th at the Kearney Event Center in Kearney, NE, February 21st and 22nd at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, SD, and February 24th and 25th at the Centennial Auditorium in Saskatoon, Canada.
