Davidson Community Players Hold Auditions For IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE on 9/27-28

Auditions for actors and actresses ages 7 and up will be held Sunday, September 27 and Monday September 28, at Davidson Community Players' Armour Street Theatre at 307 Armour Street, Davidson. Auditions will begin at 6 p.m. for youth, and 7pm for adults and will consist of cold readings from the script. Youth auditionees should arrive at 6pm, adult auditionees should plan to arrive no later than 8 p.m. Bring a resume or list of theatre experience, a recent picture and a list of conflicts for the October-December 2009 time period. Character Breakdown

It's a Wonderful Life opens December 3 and runs through December 20 at the Armour Street Theatre. The production will be directed by Anne Lambert. Adapted from the classic holiday movie, It's a Wonderful Life requires 9 0r 10 men, 7 or 8 women and 4 children (2 boys, 2 girls). A character breakdown follows:

George Bailey, the Everyman of Bedford Falls, 20+

Clarence Odbody, A-S-2 (Angel Second Class), could be male or female, 30+

Mr. Gower, proprietor of the corner drug store, 30+

Harry Bailey/Mr. Welsh, George's younger brother / schoolteacher's husband, 20+

Mrs. Bailey, George's mother, a very kind and understanding woman, 30+

Aunt Tilly, Uncle Billy's wife, 30+

Violet Peterson, proprietor of a beauty salon, 20+

Bert, a patrolman, 20+

Ernie, a mail carrier, 20+

Uncle Billy, George's uncle and business partner, 30+

Mary Hatch Bailey, George's loving wife, 20+

Henry F. Potter, owns practically the entire town, 30+

Mrs. Hatch/Miss Andrews, Mary's mother / townsperson, 30+
