WWD confirms that Gabriella Forte will take over as the CEO of David Yurman. Forte, a longtime board member, is also a fashion industry veteran. She began her career at Giorgio Armani, where she eventually rose to executive vice president, and worked at other luxury brands like Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.

Forte will report to cofounders David and Sybil Yurman. David Yurman has been serving as interim ceo since February 2014 after Glen Senk stepped down.

David Yurman said, "We have long wanted Gabriella in this role. She has a deep understanding of our brand and has provided valuable insights and sage counsel through her advisory board position for many years. Her extensive luxury retail experience in the U.S. and internationally is unmatched in the industry making her the ideal partner to help us continue to grow our global footprint."

About David Yurman:

Sculptor David Yurman and his wife, Sybil, a painter, launched the David Yurman brand in 1980. They collaborated to create jewelry that was both a fashion statement and a work of art.

The Cable bracelet-a twisted helix adorned with finial gemstones-was David Yurman's first celebrated design. Introduced in 1983, it was an immediate success, and remains to this day one of the world's most beloved jewelry designs. From iconic Cable bracelets to new collections, these creations define effortless American luxury.

As both an artist and artisan, David Yurman is involved in the entire creative process, from initial sketch to finished piece. The finest precious metals, rare gemstones, and unconventional materials are fashioned by the world's best craftspeople into jewelry of enduring quality and beauty.
