On Monday, April 9th, Les Miserables star Daphne Rubin-Vega will return to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St.) for a concert performance.

"Rubin-Vega returns to Joe's Pub to rock out her melodic, driving and sexy tunes, playing music from her forthcoming CD. Her long awaited album, 'Redemption Songs,' is a vibrant and sophisticated collection of pop, reggae-tinged, rock and Latin folk songs that are soulful, passionate and from her heart," press notes state.

The actress recently played Fantine in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, and is now appearing in Jack Goes Boating at the Public Theater. Rubin-Vega appeared Broadway with her debut as Mimi in the original cast of Rent, for which she won the Theater World Award, and the Tony and Drama Desk nominations as best actress in a musical, and continued on in such diverse productions as The Rocky Horror Show, Anna in the Tropics (another Tony nomination), and most recently, motherhood. A self-described "club kid", her career got an early start when she began singing with a girl group called, Pajama Party, and then went on to record her own underground club music on Maxi records.
