Daniel Rodriguez Sings Broadway Hits, Featuring a Stage Concert of 'Hit The Deck'

On January 21st at 3:00pm, The Madison Theatre at Molloy College welcomes, Daniel Rodriguez, a New York City police officer turned acclaimed vocalist after his inspirational voice lifted the nation with his rendition of "God Bless America" at 9/11 memorial ceremonies.

Rodriguez has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, Larry King Live, and even the Oprah Winfrey Show. Now he will be taking The Madison Theatre Stage, accompanied by The South Shore Symphony and 28 of Molloy College's very own CAP21 Conservatory students. Rodriguez will be performing hand-picked favorites from Les Misèrables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Chicago, Jekyll and Hyde, Zelda, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and more as well as a concert performance of songs from Vincent Youmans' 1927 broadway masterpiece, Hit The Deck.

Hit The Deck is a hit 1927 broadway musical, turned MGM hit movie in 1955, originally starring Debbie Reynolds and Tony Martin. It is a star sparking musical comedy, following three sizzling love affairs during a group of sailors 48 hours on shore. This story will now take the stage at The Madison Theatre in a new light with Rodriguez at the helm of the ship. Some notable hits from this production include "Sometimes I'm Happy," "Hallelujah," "Why Oh Why" and "Keepin' Myself For You."
