D'Amboise, Jolley, Bernstein Set for FL Theatre Project

Broadway luminaries Christopher D'Amboise, Lisa Jolley and Jed Bernstein will teach at the Broadway Theatre Project in Tampa during the program's first week.

D'Amboise will take part in the program July 10-16. "As a Principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Christopher worked closely with both George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, originating works as well as performing major repertoire. On Broadway he co-starred with Bernadette Peters in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song and Dance, for which he earned a Tony nomination. As Choreographer, Christopher works both in theater and ballet. He has created over 80 works seen worldwide in cities including London, Prague, Paris, Copenhagen, New York, Lisbon, and Istanbul. His ballets have been presented in over 30 companies including the New York City Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Pennsylvania Ballet, National Ballet of Amsterdam, and the San Francisco Ballet.  His latest work, Tribute, premiered with NYC Ballet at Lincoln Center in 2007," state press notes.

Jed Bernstein will appear July 10-11. He "recently launched 'Above The Title Entertainment,' a new Broadway/Television production company and marketing consultancy that combines skill at marketing and promotion with love for the theatre. His first production, Don't Quit Your Night Job, opened off-Broadway this past Spring. For 11 years he was President of the League of American Theatres and Producers where his many initiatives included Kids' Night on Broadway; serving as Executive Producer on Broadway on Broadway, a national television program, and Broadway Under the Stars, a summer music event that is televised locally every June on WCBS TV. He was instrumental in leading Broadway's recovery after 9/11 with, among other efforts, the producing and directing of the New York Loves America concert tour. Jed has taught a graduate class in advertising and marketing at New York University, and for the past six years has lectured at Yale University's School of Management and the Yale School of Drama. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, holds an MBA from Yale, and currently has board appointments with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Actor's Fund."

Lisa Jolley will take part in the project July 7-11.  "Lisa Jolley was most recently seen in the Off-Broadway production of Don't Quit Your Night Job as a part of its rotating cast. Directly before that, she starred as the Female Authority Figure in the Broadway production of HairsprayOther credits include The King Stag at Yale Repertory Theater, Jeff Whitty's The Plank Project, The Dilemma of Drugs, and Sweeney Todd at the Paper Mill Playhouse. As an improviser, Lisa has performed and taught internationally with Boom Chicago of Amsterdam, and in New York with Chicago City Limits, The Upright Citizens' Brigade, The Pollyannas, and at The Moth. Her fully-improvised solo show, Jolley On The Spot, has been seen in NYC, L.A., and at the Chicago Improv Festival. TV/Film credits include 'Hope and Faith,' 'Sex and the City,' 'As the World Turns,' and 'The Penny Marshall Project.'"

Founded in 1991, Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) is the world's most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students. Under the Artistic Direction of Debra McWaters, the non-profit BTP is an intensive three-week training program focused on the key disciplines of musical theatre including acting, dancing, and singing, as well as the critical life skills necessary to work in the professional world of entertainment.

Neil Patrick Harris (Assassins, Proof, "How I Met Your Mother") will also teach a master class on Thursday.
