D’Addario & Alhambra Present Classical Artists at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall 1/27

D'Addario & Alhambra are proud to honor its existing and new endorsees with a classical concert series, scheduled for January 27, 2011, featuring exemplary classical performers and recent winners of top classical guitar festivals including, Florian Larousse - 2009 Guitar Foundation of America International Competition winner and Anabel Montesinos - 2010 "Michele Pittaluga" International Classical Guitar Competition winner.

The concert series commenced on Thursday, October 28, 2010 with a stunning classical guitar performance by 2010 Koblenz Classical Guitar Competition, virtuoso Rafael Aguirre Miñarro and delightful opening sets from Cem Duruöz and Philippe Bertaud. Set at none other than Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, the concert series sustains both D'Addario's and Alhambra's continual efforts to build artist recognition for up-&-coming classical artists.

The young French classical guitar virtuoso Florian Larousse, at the age of 22, has already wowed audiences on multiple continents. From numerous prizes in the some of the most significant international competitions of the guitar world to audience choice awards and recording contracts, Larousse has shot to the forefront of his field.

Florian Larousse has earned prizes in a number of international competitions in various countries including France, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, and the United States. His performance at the Jose Tomás Competition (Spain) earned him first prize and the Audience Choice Award in addition to resulting in a tour of Spain to 10 different cities as well as a recording contract. In 2009 he won the Koblenz International guitar Competition "Hubert Kappel" (Germany) and later that year won the coveted first prize of The Guitar Foundation of America International Artist Competition.

Anabel Montesinos was born in Reus, Tarragona in 1984 and began her studies of musical education at the age of six in the Escuela Municipal de L'Hospitalet de L'Infant. In 1997, a year after her first soloist concert, Anabel began her intermediate level studies in the Conservatorio Superior de Música of Tarragona and completed this studies in 2001. Anabel has also taken master classes and learned from the great concertist and teacher, Ignacio Rodes in the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Oscar Espla" in Alicante, Spain.

She has given recitals in Spain, Poland and Italy and has participated as a guest in numerous important festivals, including the Fourth International Meeting of Classical Music in Jaén, the Ninth Gitarowy Festival in Lublin and as guest soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lublin. In 2001 she won first prizes in the Jaén First International Competition El Condado, the Lérida Second Instrumental Competition Sant Anastasi, and in 2002 the first prize, audience prize and special prize for the best performance of works by Francisco Tárrega at the 36th Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition at Benicásim. Her achievements have won enthusiastic acclaim from a vast array of critics and audiences.
