Avenue Q's Stephanie D'Abruzzo and other stars will be featured in a private workshop of Lance Horne's new musical The $trip.  The workshops, which are by invitation only, will take place at the Ohio Theatre (64 Wooster St., between Spring and Broome) from March 15th through 18th.

According to press notes, the musical is "a brand new dance musical that takes a look at America as Vegas would have it: a mythic place of desire, promise and betrayal, built on a premise of perpetual change...The $trip tells the story of America through the guise of a Las Vegas floor show."

The $trip features music and lyrics by Horne, and the workshop will be directed by Alyse Rothman (who also provides additional lyrics).  Tiger Martina choreographs.

The cast will include: Alex Brady, Michael Cusumano, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Aisha de Haas, Kurt Froman, Bob Gaynor, Neil Haskell, Sabra Lewis, Mayumi Miguel , Rashad Naylor, Jen Parsinen, Karine Plantadit-Bageot and Teal Wicks.

The band will comprise: Malcolm Gold, Bill Lanham, Shu Nakamura, and Brian Nash.

Horne previously served as vocal arranger for Little Women. He was also a contributing composer to Songs from an Unmade Bed, which played New York Theater Workshop, and worked on the score of The Melting Pot's production of Flight, which ran Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel.
