Julie Craig will assume the role of "Luisa" in the new production of The Fantasticks beginning Friday, April 6, 2007.  Craig replaces original cast member Sara Jean Ford whose final performance will be Thursday, April 5, 2007.

It was also announced that "American Idol" star Anthony Fedorov will join the cast in the role of "Matt" on Tuesday, May 1.

Craig has previously appeared in The Apple Tree and Bye Bye Birdie at NY City Center Encores!, The Pirates of Penzance and Iolanthe with the NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and was seen as Maria in the international tour of West Side Story.

The Fantasticks opened on Wednesday, August 23, at New York's Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street at Broadway).  The beloved, musical love story features music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones.  Jones also directs.

The Fantasticks also stars Thomas Bruce ("Henry"), John Deyle ("Hucklebee"), Douglas Ullman, Jr. ("Matt"), Burke  Moses ("El Gallo"), Robert R. Oliver ("Mortimer") and Martin Vidnovic as ("Bellomy"). The musical is produced by Steven Baruch, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel and Thomas Viertel.  The cast recording is available on Ghostlight Records.
