NOISEFEST 2011! SUNDAY, APRIL 3RD, NOON TO 5PM.
Join CONEY ISLAND USA as it makes noise to let New York City know that Coney Island is ready to rock and roll!

COME TO CONEY AND MAKE SOME NOISE!
Mr. Pustra is coming from London to Coney Island to make some noise on his musical saw. Dancing Man is coming from New Orleans to Coney Island to make some noise with a jazz funeral. The Dreamland Pier Bell is coming from under the sea to Coney Island to ring in the new season! Mechanical Music inside our landmarked building!

NOON TO 2PM
Ring the century old Dreamland Pier Bell courtesy of Gene Ritter, the Coney Island diver who discovered the Bell and raised it from the ocean floor.

The 1885 bronze bell once welcomed steamship passengers arriving at the New Iron Pier to visit Coney Island's original Dreamland Park, which was on the site of the New York Aquarium. The historic bell survived the Dreamland fire of 1911 and was discovered underwater on September 3, 2009 after a 20-year quest by Coney Island diver Gene Ritter.

2PM TO 4 PM
James Demaria Productions presents a traditional New Orleans "Jazz Funeral for Coney Island". With Darryl "DancingMan504" and Jambalaya Brass Band leading the way we will stroll in a somber march but when the procession nears the boardwalk it's time for the dead to be reborn. From that point we will second line and dance until we can't dance anymore. All symbolizing Coney Island's "death" and hopes for it's "rebirth."

4PM TO 5PM
Musical Saw Concert by London's MR. PUSTRA. Mr Pustra, Vaudeville's Darkest Muse is a character drawn on the stylings of Weimar culture and performers of the 1920's and 1930's. Other influences such as singer Klaus Nomi, German Expressionism, and artist Otto Dix feature in some of his work. A visually compelling and often tragic character, Mr Pustra's ability to transform is both fascinating and creatively liberating and the ‘Weimar Berlin look' has always featured strongly in his shows, styling and illustrations.

Mr Pustra is a Performer, Photographer, Curator, Illustrator and Video Artist. He recently produced his stage show, VILLAINS in Rome's Teatro Palladium featuring Joe Black. Mr Pustra has been featured in Vanity Fair (Italy) Playboy (France) and Time Out Magazine (London) He has performed at The Supperclub (Amsterdam/London), Torture Garden (London), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Le Balajo (Paris) Teatro Palladium (Rome), Casablanca Circus Tent (Amsterdam), Royal Festival Hall (London).
