Common Room is proud to present FORTUNA FANTASIA as part of the 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. A hilarious new play from writer Jesse Schreck presented by a theater company from Yale University.

The madcap comedy begins when Claire rejects Jeffrey's marriage proposal and then accidentally breaks his left foot, leaving him unable to move out of their apartment. In response, Jeffrey invites a woman named Kathleen over for a date. In response, Clairebegins seeing a man named Thomas. Their little game quickly spirals out of control, aided by the gleefully devious Ringmaster, a Fate-like narrator who summons rain and snarls traffic, all to make his puppets' story just a little more perfect.

Featuring a hostage situation, pork buns, bad poetry, and murder, FORTUNA FANTASIA is a romp through the strangest month of Claire and Jeffrey's lives.

This show features Juliana Canfield (Kathleen), Paul Hinkes (Jeffrey), Jacob Osborne (Thomas), Chandler Rosenthal (Claire), and Jeremy Weiss (Ringmaster). The team is Nailah Harper-Malveaux (Director), Jesse Schreck (Playwright), Jenny Gorelick (Production Manager), Max Gordon (Sound Design), and Amanda Chang (Light Design).

Common Room is an undergraduate theater company at Yale University comprised of actors, writers, and directors. Since the fall of 2011, they have written, produced, and performed three original plays, including the premiere of FORTUNA FANTASIA in December 2013 in New Haven, Connecticut.
