Legendary entertainer Clint Holmes, a favorite on the Las Vegas stage whose career has spanned more than two decades, previews his autobiographical musical "Just Another Man" beginning June 1, exclusively for Las Vegas audiences, inside the Judy Bayley Theatre at UNLV. The show, a look at the life and career of an extraordinary talent, will eventually travel to London, before hopefully premiering on Broadway.

"Just Another Man" is based on the true story of Holmes' parents his father an African-American jazz musician and his mother, a classically trained opera singer from Great Britain. It begins in 1944 and covers six decades.

Holmes spent three years writing "Just Another Man," along with Larry Moss and Bill Fayne. Moss directs the production, and according to Holmes, was integral to making the emotion of the show shine through.

"Larry made me dive deep emotionally to find the kind of truths that are difficult to face, whether they be personal or professional," Holmes said. "These truths are what make this production important and honest. This is definitely the most difficult and rewarding thing I have ever done creatively."

Moss said Holmes' ability to hold an audience is an art form, and one that needs to be shared.

"Three years ago I saw Clint Holmes perform, and after the third song, I just put my head down and cried," Moss said. "I didn't think there was anyone left who could entertain an audience by just walking on a stage. It takes a great performer to excite an audience on that level and take them on this spiritual, magical journey."

"Just Another Man," is presented by the Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV and features music by Holmes and Fayne and lyrics by Holmes. Set design is by Doug Schmidt; lighting by Ken Billington and David Segal; and sound by Peter Fitzgerald.

Preview performances for "Just Another Man" are June 1, 2, 3, and 6 at 8 p.m. with matinees at 2 p.m. on June 2 and 3.
