The producers of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG announced today that the Broadway musical will play its final performance Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 2pm. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG has music & lyrics by Grammy and Academy Award winners Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, and has been adapted for the stage by Jeremy Sams based on Roald Dahl's screenplay of the novel by Ian Fleming. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is directed by Adrian Noble, with musical staging by Gillian Lynne. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG made its American premiere at Broadway's Hilton Theatre (213 West 42nd Street), beginning previews on Sunday, March 27, 2005, opened on Thursday, April 28, 2005,and will have played 34 preview and 285 regular performances.

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is produced on Broadway by Dana Broccoli, Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, Frederick Zollo, Nicholas Paleologos, Jeffrey Sine, Harvey Weinstein, East of Doheny Theatricals and Michael Rose Limited.

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG's cast of forty-nine is led by Rau?l Esparza as Caractacus Potts, Erin Dilly as Truly Scrumptious, Philip Bosco as Grandpa Potts, Kenneth Kantor as Baron Bomburst, Jan Maxwell as Baroness Bomburst, Chip Zien as Goran, Robert Sella as Boris, Kevin Cahoon as the Childcatcher, Frank Raiter as the Toymaker and as the children, Henry Hodges as Jeremy and Ellen Marlow as Jemima.

The playing schedule for CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is as follows: Wednesday through Saturday at 7pm, with Wednesday & Saturday matinees at 2pm and Sunday performances at 1pm & 6pm. Special holiday performances: Sunday, November 20 at 8pm, Friday, November 25 at 2pm, Monday, December 19 at 7pm, Tuesday, December 20 at 7pm, Monday, December 26 at 7pm, Tuesday, December 27 at 2pm and 7pm, and Friday, December 30 at 2pm.
